Milestone Ceremonies

Salangai Poojai (Sacred Initiation)

This traditional ceremony marks a student's formal entry into Bharatanatyam. The ritual blessing of the ankle bells (ghungroo) symbolizes the dancer's commitment to the art form and is celebrated with family and community. It's a sacred moment honoring the lineage of gurus and the spiritual journey ahead.

Arangetram (Debut Performance)

The Arangetram is a significant milestone in a Bharatanatyam dancer's journey, marking years of disciplined training and artistic growth. The presentation includes both group and solo performances, seamlessly woven with dramatic storytelling and expressive dance. Following the traditional Bharatanatyam margam, the dancer performs continuously for nearly three hours, demonstrating stamina, technical excellence, and emotional depth. This debut is presented before an esteemed chief guest, Guru, and the dance community. The Arangetram signifies the dancer's readiness to uphold and represent the classical tradition with confidence and maturity.
